Tahuamanu began its production operations in the early 1990s, following the arrival of a group of entrepreneurs in Cobija in 1989—many of whom came from the coffee industry. These individuals explored the potential of establishing a presence in Cobija and entering the Brazil nut sector. At the time, most Brazil nuts collected in the region were exported as raw material to Belém, Brazil, due to the lack of local infrastructure and labor capable of processing them in Pando, especially in Cobija. In response, significant investments were made in modern technologies and industrial systems to process Brazil nuts locally, with the dual goal of strengthening the industry and creating employment opportunities in the region.
