Kijiji Nuts Ltd is an agro processing company that produces 100% Kenyan grown macadamia nuts. The nuts are grown by local farmers in villages located in Kerugoya, one of the largest towns in Kirinyaga County, the home of well drained soils and good weather for the macadamia trees. Apart from Kirinyaga, we also source the macadamia from Meru, Embu, Nyeri and Muranga Counties. Our agro processing unit produces premium macadamia nuts that are carefully packaged to retain freshness. Receiving AFA, FSSC 22000 v5.1, FDA and Kosher certifications authenticates us as a conventional macadamia supplier to the USA, Europe and Asian markets. Established in 2018, our processing unit has grown and we have the capacity to process 1,500MT of macadamia nut -in-shell into premium kernels. We currently collaborate with over 5,000 small holder farmers to supply the macadamia in its raw form. In turn, we offer premium prices for the nuts, free extension services and grafted macadamia trees from our KEPHIS certified nursery to ensure production quality and quantity. Our proximity and the free extension services to farmers ensure that good farm to factory practices is adhered to thus our nuts receive proper care right from harvesting all the way to the end product. Apart from being of value to the farmers, the presence of our company has consequently developed the area, characterised by the emerging businesses hence establishing a sustainable means of meeting needs in the region directly through job creation in the factory and indirectly by influencing the upcoming of salons, restaurants and shops in the area.
