For over six decades, the family has been engaged in agricultural trade in the Çarşamba district of Samsun, with a strong focus on hazelnuts and various other agricultural commodities. Their investments have largely centered around hazelnuts, leading to the establishment of their first cracking facility in 1986, which catered to both local and international markets.

In 2000, they launched one of Turkey’s largest hazelnut cracking plants with a capacity of 250 tons per day, marking a significant step in the company’s growth. With the founding of Yılmaz Fındık Entegre A.Ş. in 2014, the company expanded further into hazelnut processing. By 2016, the YFE and MAYHAZ processing facilities were operational. In response to rising production and export volumes, a new hazelnut cracking plant with a daily capacity of 300 tons was opened in 2019. With a total daily capacity of 550 tons, the company now operates the largest hazelnut cracking facility in the industry.

Beyond hazelnuts, the company has also invested in the rice sector. Having started trading broken rice in the early 1990s, they took a major step by opening a rice processing factory in Uzunköprü, Edirne in 2008. Today, the company continues its presence in the rice industry through its well-established Sambak and Sam&Sun brands.
