Poindexter Nut Company
About Poindexter Nut Company
Poindexter Nut Company (PNC), located in Selma, California, is a family-owned walnut processor with roots dating back to the 1950s. Founded by Ron Poindexter and his father Latha, the business started by delivering and reselling walnuts for local growers. Over the decades, PNC expanded its operations with a strong focus on quality and grower trust. After challenges with third-party processors, the Poindexters refinanced and supported growers directly, reinforcing their reputation for integrity. In 1990, they built their own processing facility to gain full control of operations. By the early 1990s, PNC was exporting five containers of walnuts; today, they ship over 500 containers globally. Their product line includes high-quality inshell and processed walnuts. Ron’s son, Mike Poindexter, joined in 1993, further expanding the company’s reach and efficiency. PNC now processes over 45 million pounds of walnuts annually. With more than 400 seasonal employees, the company exports to over 45 countries worldwide.
