About Exelnut
Exelnut was founded in 2014 by Brigitte Leblanc, MD, and Yucel Karaman, MD, both graduates of the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. Inspired by their childhood memories of fresh, flavorful walnuts—hers from her grandmother’s garden and his from mornings in his village in Turkey—they launched a family project to grow walnuts in a way that honored tradition and nature. With a shared vision of restoring the authentic quality of walnuts often lost in mass production, they conducted detailed feasibility studies and received advanced agronomy training in the United States. Combining their medical and scientific backgrounds with a deep respect for the land, they set out to produce walnuts of exceptional quality. Their approach blends time-honored farming practices with modern agricultural innovations, creating a product that reflects both excellence and care.
