About Baktar Tarim

The story of the Baktar Family Corporation began in 1965 when sector pioneer Mr. Mahmut Bak planted 250 apricot trees in Darende, Malatya, Turkey. Starting with fried apricot trading in the early 1980s, the business steadily expanded under the leadership of successive generations. In 2002, the second generation established the company’s first apricot factory, followed in 2011 by a modern facility founded by the third generation. Today, as the company celebrates 60 years, it operates one of the largest integrated factories in the Malatya region with 4,000 m² of indoor space, 10,000 m² of total facilities, and 650,000 m² of orchards housing 8,000 trees. With operations spanning fresh and dried fruits, nuts, seeds, and poultry rearing, Baktar has grown into a diversified and respected family enterprise.
