Ake Rice Mill Company Limited has specialized in the rice industry for over five decades, carrying on the business through generations. In its early years, the company focused on polishing and producing a variety of quality rice, marketed both under its own brand for domestic distribution particularly in Bangkok and nearby areas as well as under other company brands. As consumer behavior evolved over time, packaging methods also changed. Traditional bulk sacks were replaced with standardized 5 kg plastic bags, which quickly gained popularity among Thai consumers. Ake Rice Mill was the first to introduce retail plastic packaging with die-cut handles to Thailand’s domestic market. In recognition of this innovation, the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment honored the company with an award for outstanding agricultural product packaging. The company has consistently achieved strong growth in both operations and sales. By 1995, aiming to expand into international markets and showcase its premium rice varieties globally, Ake Rice Mill invested 180 million baht in constructing a fully automated, computerized facility on a 4,000 m² site in Nonthaburi Province. This modern factory, equipped with advanced production technology, enables the company to produce up to 150,000 tons of rice annually, equivalent to 30 million retail packs of 5 kg rice—valued at 4,000 million baht per year. Currently, 80% of production is exported under both customer brands and the company’s own Thai Village brand, while the remaining 20% serves the domestic market. Major export destinations include the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.
