Hibernia Misiones
About Hibernia Misiones
The company began operations in 1988, originally as a sugarcane distillery producing ethanol. It later expanded into an organic sugarcane mill and, in 2023, reintroduced distilling capacities to strengthen its production capabilities.
Its agro-industrial facilities are based in Santa María de Fé, approximately 225 kilometers south of Asunción, the capital of Paraguay, and 15 kilometers from San Ignacio, the main nearby city that serves as a hub for transportation and public services. The plant is situated in the Misiones region, one of Paraguay’s 17 departments, an area historically known as the starting point of Jesuit evangelization in South America during the 16th century. This region carries a rich cultural heritage, where missions were established to educate local communities in agriculture and livestock farming.
