Bacterial Food Contamination
Different types of bacteria can also lead to contamination. One example is Campylobacter jejuni, which basically results from not properly handling raw poultry or consuming undercooked poultry. E-Coli is another common bacteria that cause food contamination, which is commonly found in raw milk, beef, chicken, and even in fruits and vegetables. Vibrio cholera, as it is named, can lead to cholera. Meanwhile, Vibrio vulnificus is present in contaminated seafood, which is especially common during the warm season. Parasitic Food Contamination
A parasite thrives in or on a host. It is nourished in the absence of killing or benefiting the host. It enters the body through the consumption of contaminated food and water. One of its most popular types is known as Entamoeba histolytica, which can cause severe diarrhea and is often called traveler’s dysentery as it is more common in developing countries. Toxoplasma gondii is another example of a parasite that can result in food contamination, which is common when consuming raw or uncooked meats.

Food Contamination through Improper Handling
This is another common cause of food contamination and one that is often ignored by many people. Whether it is in manufacturing plants or kitchens at home, it is important to make sure that foods will be handled in the best way possible to prevent attracting contaminants that could lead to their spoilage or a variety of health problems. Cross-contamination, for instance, is an important concern. Contaminated tools and surfaces that get in touch with raw food can transfer microbes. Attention should also be given to proper storage, including moisture and temperature, which will also possibly lead to food contamination.
